Ficher,
I will answer in Englesh as clear as I can, and you can use translate.google.com to translate my answer into German.
There are two different dogs on my photos. First is Rottweiler called Hogar, and second is Dobermann called Cherry. Cherry (which is on my profile picture) wears spike collar, because this photo is taken on our training. At that class she has learned heal and come command. She DOES NOT wear this collar all the time, only on some classes.
Spike collars does not harm animals despite their look. Before I've put one on a dog I had tried on myself. Their role is to pinch not to stab. That kinds of collars are very useful if they are used in a right way (in a hand of a professional) and they DO NOT harm animal. I first wouldn't use spike collar if I knew that it hurts my dogs.
Who ever said that he prepared dog for IPO and ZTP without spike collar he laid. On a competition you can see, based on a dog's motion, that those collars were used. Germans use them very much for example.
If you have any questions feel free to ask me!
Cheers,
Milos
